Ventilation: I was never bothered by the smell of other people's cooking, but trying to ventilate my own kitchen was tough since the fan over the stove did precious little. More importantly, I could smell the very strong scent of weed pouring through the vents on occasion. I don't have a problem with those who smoke herb but I really don't need that when I'm trying to work in my apartment.
